This notice covers this website, www.datingrepublic.com: the date ideas, guides and information pages. It doesn't cover the members area where profiles and messages live. That has its own members area privacy policy.
Who is responsible
High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation (file no. 10670515), registered office 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, USA, is the data controller for this website. To contact us about privacy, use the help centre.
What this website collects
This is a static information site. In plain terms:
- No cookies. This website sets no cookies.
- No advertising or tracking scripts. We don't run ad networks, analytics trackers or social media pixels on this website.
- Server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers log technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. These logs are used for security, to keep the site running and to fix performance problems. Vercel explains its own handling in its privacy policy.
If you use a join box
Some pages have a box where you can type your email address to start a profile. If you use it, your email address is sent to the members area at members.datingrepublic.com/join so you can finish signing up. From that point it's handled under the members area privacy policy, not this notice.
Profiles and the partner network
Anything you put in a profile is handled by the members area. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, so members of other sites in the network can see and message you. The members area privacy policy explains this in full.
Why we can use this data
For the server logs, our lawful basis under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR is legitimate interests: keeping the website secure and working. For a join-box email, the purpose is to take the step you asked for, starting a membership.
Who we share it with
Vercel, as our hosting provider, processes the server logs on our behalf. We don't sell data from this website, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
International transfers
The operator is based in the USA and our host runs servers in several countries, so technical data may be processed outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires for such transfers.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept only as long as our host retains them for security and operational purposes. This website itself stores nothing else about you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- ask for a copy of it;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to or restrict how it's used;
- complain to a regulator.
In the UK, those rights come from UK GDPR and the regulator is the ICO, which explains how to make a complaint. In the European Economic Area, contact the data protection authority in your country; the European Data Protection Board lists them. Several US states, including California, give residents similar rights to know about, correct and delete personal information.
To use any of these rights, contact us through the help centre. We'll respond within the time the law allows. For your profile, messages or billing data, also use the members area privacy policy and your account settings.
Children
This website and the members area are for adults 18 and over.
Changes
