In short
Dating Republic is a dating site for adults 18 and over, run by High Intent Media Inc. Making a profile and browsing are free; reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership that renews until you cancel. Photos are reviewed, profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, and an ID badge is optional.

Dating Republic has two halves. This website is the free guide: date ideas by place, first-date advice and the facts about the site. The members area at members.datingrepublic.com is where profiles and messages live. Here's how the members side works, step by step.
1. Make a profile (free)
Sign-up asks for an email address, a password and your date of birth. You must be 18 or over. You'll usually need at least one profile photo, then you can add more and write a bit about yourself.
Your profile can include details such as the age range and distance you're interested in, languages, whether you have or want children, and whether you smoke or drink. Fill in what you're comfortable sharing; you can leave your surname, workplace and street out.
Every photo is reviewed. Your written profile isn't checked by anyone, and nor is anyone else's, so read profiles with the same healthy scepticism you'd bring to any website.
2. Browse and see who's interested (free)
Browsing profiles costs nothing, and you can receive interest from other members without paying. This is the point to work out whether there's anyone you'd actually like to talk to before you spend anything. Free members see adverts in the members area.
Dating Republic is part of a network of partner sites that share one member database. Your profile can be seen by members of other sites in the network, and theirs by you. A match may have joined somewhere else, and their profile shows which site.
3. Read and reply (paid)
Reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership. A membership also unlocks features such as read receipts, seeing who viewed your profile and viewing photos in full.
| Item | Free | Paid membership |
|---|---|---|
| Create a profile and add photos | Yes | Yes |
| Browse profiles | Yes | Yes |
| Receive interest | Yes | Yes |
| Read and reply to messages | No | Yes |
| See who viewed you, read receipts, full-size photos | No | Yes |
The current options are on our prices page. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing, and charges appear under the billing name shown at checkout, which may not say Dating Republic.
Optional extras, such as profile boosts and an ID badge, are sold separately in the members area. None of them is needed to start a conversation.
The optional ID badge
The ID badge shows a member has matched a photo ID document to a live selfie through LEM Verify, an identity verification provider. It's optional and paid for most people. Some accounts are asked to verify before they can carry on, for example sign-ups through a VPN or accounts that have been flagged. A badge tells you someone is who their photos say; it doesn't vouch for anything else. Our ID verification guide explains what it does and doesn't prove.
Then: the date
This is the bit we care most about. Our London date ideas list real places checked on their own websites, with stations, times and prices where the venue publishes them. Whatever you choose, read first-date safety before you go. Never send money to someone you've met online, however the request is framed.
Leaving
To stop paying, cancel in Settings > Billing. To remove your profile completely, open your avatar, then Settings > Delete Account. If you can't get in, our log-in help page covers password resets.

Questions people ask
Can people from other sites see my profile?
Yes. Dating Republic shares one member database with partner sites in the same network, so members who joined elsewhere in the network can see and message you, and you can message them. Their profile shows which site they joined through.
Are members checked?
Every photo is reviewed. What members write about themselves is not checked. Some accounts, such as VPN sign-ups or flagged accounts, must complete an ID check; for everyone else the ID badge is optional and paid.
Which countries can join?
The members area accepts sign-ups from the UK, Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Portugal. The date ideas on this website focus on London and UK towns.
How do I stop paying?
Memberships renew automatically. Cancel any time in Settings > Billing, before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future charges but keeps your profile; deleting it is a separate step under your avatar > Settings > Delete Account.
