Billing, renewal and refunds

  • Memberships renew automatically until you cancel in Settings > Billing.
  • Charges appear under the billing name shown at checkout. Make a note of it when you pay.
  • Refunds are pro-rata and only when at least 40% of the paid period is unused, as set out in the member terms.
  • Optional extras, such as profile boosts and the ID badge, are bought separately from a membership.

What's checked, and what isn't

  • Every photo is reviewed.
  • What members write about themselves is not checked.
  • ID verification (a photo ID matched to a selfie, by LEM Verify) is an optional paid badge. It's required for some sign-ups, such as through a VPN or when an account is flagged.
  • The badge shows a person matches their ID. It doesn't tell you their intentions. Our guide to dating ID verification explains what it proves and what it doesn't.

Who can join

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • The members area accepts sign-ups from the UK, Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Portugal.
  • Most members need at least one profile photo.

The partner network

Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, using one member database. Members of other sites in the network can see and message you, and a profile shows which site its owner joined on.

Leaving

  1. Stop payments: Settings > Billing.
  2. Delete your account: your avatar > Settings > Delete Account.

Cancel first, then delete, so you can see the renewal has stopped before the account goes.

Questions people ask

Is Dating Republic legit?

Dating Republic is a real dating site run by a registered company, High Intent Media Inc, a Delaware corporation (file no. 10670515). It publishes its prices, how billing and cancelling work, and what it does and doesn't check. As on any dating site, what members write about themselves isn't verified, so use the usual first-date safety habits.

I don't recognise a charge. Could it be Dating Republic?

Charges appear under the billing name shown at checkout, which may not say Dating Republic. If you didn't make the purchase, contact the help centre first, then your bank or card provider. To stop any future renewals, cancel in Settings > Billing.

Can I get a refund?

Under the member terms, refunds are pro-rata and only when at least 40% of the paid period is unused. To stop future payments, cancel in Settings > Billing; your membership otherwise renews automatically. For anything else about a payment, contact the help centre.

Are profiles on Dating Republic verified?

No site can honestly say every profile is genuine, and we don't. Every photo is reviewed, but what members write about themselves isn't checked. ID verification, which matches a photo ID to a selfie, is an optional paid badge, and it's required for some sign-ups, such as through a VPN.

Can people on other sites see my profile?

Yes. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network through one member database, so members of those sites can see and message you. Each profile shows which site its owner joined on, so you can see where a match signed up.
